TURA: A candidate set to contest the West Pathorkata VEC Election has sought the intervention of the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner into the alleged cancellation of his candidature by the Block Development Officer of the Selsella C&RD.
Mottior Hussain, son of Lt Anwar Hussain of Pathorkata Village under Tikrikilla PS claimed that his candidature was abruptly cancelled on the pretext that his job card was fake, without any official intimation being given.
“I am a genuine job card holder which I have obtained by submitting all valid documents required for the same. ” Hussain said, and urged the Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter.
Earlier, Hussain filed his nomination on October 5 for the VEC election scheduled for October 29, which was postponed to November 8 due to some technical issues.
On November 2, Hussain received an order from the BDO which stated that his nomination had been rejected as his job card was ‘fake’.
