While discussing the nine basic leadership qualities devised by him, Pillai emphasised on an eagle like approach so far as work culture is concerned. He stressed on sustainable growth through team building and is of the opinion that  one has to go beyond resources to achieve the goal.
“We should take the responsibility to mentor our own kind. The North Eastern region should produce leaders and not rely on others,” he said.
He spoke about renewal in our daily lives which revolves around the word ‘SPICE’ which stands for Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Community and Emotion.
C.K. Das, member of NEC while speaking on the occasion, reflected on hindrances in the development of the North Eastern Region.
He felt that keeping pace with growth in population of the region resulting in massive demographic change, employment potential and developmental initiatives have to grow.
