SHILLONG: The State Co-ordination Committee of Coal Owners, Miners and Dealers Forum (SCCCOMDF) has expressed resentment over the failure of the Transport department to make weighbridges at Borsora and Cherragoan in South West Khasi Hills functional as assured by the department.
“Hundreds of coal laden trucks have lined up since Sunday evening, awaiting to be weighed at the weighbridges, but transport officials failed to turn up for duty,” a SCCCOMDF statement said on Monday.
The inconveniences caused in this regard were enormous and perhaps intentional, the Forum said, urging the Transport department to make the weighbridges operational within 24 hours failing which, “the Forum will be compelled to inform the NGT and the Apex Court of non compliance of their directions.
