Feb date for Adelbert case

SHILLONG: The High Court on Monday heard the pending contempt of case involving former KHADC CEM Adelbert Nongrum and five HYC members on Monday and fixed the matter for hearing in February next.
The principal contemnor Nongrum was present in person along with the four HYC members during the hearing on Monday.
K. Paul, counsel for the respondents, submitted that one of the respondents Nickson Dohling who had not been able to attend the Court on the last occasion, is still unwell and is hospitalized.
Paul moved an application seeking exemption of his attendance for the day.
The Court said that after the submission was made, the application was allowed. The presence of Dohling was exempted for the day. At the request, the matter was adjourned and listed for further hearing on February 6, 2017.
