SHILLONG: A group of NGOs in East Garo Hills demonstrated in front of the DC court on Wednesday over delay in inquiry into the “illegal practices of the district selection committee”.
The Non-governmental organisations, including AAYF, FKJGP and GSU, also threatened to call bandh if no action is taken.
“We have followed our democratic rights guaranteed under the Constitution and now it is the duty of the government to act and punish those DSC members for denying free and fair competition.”
“If needed, we will not hesitate to call bandh,” said FKJGP general secretary (eastern circle) Sengbreez Marak.
AAYF general secretary (eastern zone) Tuara N. Marak said, “Government jobs do not belong to friends and family of DSC members and this is unacceptable and we want immediate action against them and if our demand is not met with, we will knock stronger than ever.”
