NONGSTOIN: Two Congress candidates, Lambok Nongrang and Ioanis Lyngdoh, filed their nomination papers on Wednesday from Mairang and Mawthadraishan constituencies, respectively.
Nongrang, who was accompanied by local leaders and supporters, said he was confident of winning the KHADC seat. He added that if voted to power, he would fight for protecting the customs and traditional rights of the Khasis and strengthening the ruling in the Dorbar Shnong and the Hima etc. Lyngdoh, who was accompanied by district Congress president Boldness Nongum, said he would work towards strengthening the Sixth Schedule in the KHADC.
