Mystery shrouds dumping of Rs 60 lakh on RKM premises

SHILLONG: Mystery surrounds the Rs 60 lakh found in polythene bags containing demonetized Rs 500 and 100 notes on the premises of Ramakrishna Mission at Laitumkhrah.
It is yet to be known who dumped the notes and the motive behind it. It is suspected that the intention of those who dumped the money was to donate the same.
Sources said that after detecting the bags, the Ramakrishna Mission authorities had on Monday informed the police personnel, who in turn handed over the same to officers of Income Tax.
