Lt Gen AS Bedi new GOC-in-C of 4 Corps

Guwahati: Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh Bedi has taken over as the General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps (4 Corps) of Indian Army based at Tezpur in north Assam, from Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu who has proceeded to take over as GOC-in-C Northern Command.
Defence spokesman S Newton informed that Lieutenant General Bedi commissioned into Garhwal Rifle Regiment on June 13, 1981 has had a distinguished military career during which he has executed important Command, Staff and Instructor appointments.
The General has the credentials of having commanded ‘The Formidable Fifth’ Brigade (The oldest Infantry Brigade of the Indian Army) in Arunachal Pradesh and Trishul Division in Leh.
His staff appointments include Colonel General Staff (China) Headquarters Army Training Command and Major General General staff at Headquarters Eastern Command.
Prior to taking over the Command of the Gajraj Corps, the General has served as General Officer Commanding Bengal Area.
The General has done various courses to include the prestigious Defence Service Staff College course at Wellington, Senior Command Course at Army War College, Higher Command Course from NDU, Beijing, China and NDC Course at National Defence College.
The General has also been decorated with Vishist Seva Medal in 2012 and Yudh Seva Medal in 2015 for his distinguished and gallant service.
