SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has drawn flak from the Achik Youth Council for cancellation and re-notification of the post of Medical and Health Officer under the Health and Family Welfare Department to increase the number of vacant posts.    While the advertisement was on March 2 this year, it was cancelled and re-notified on April 12.   The Achik Youth Council on behalf of the aggrieved candidates has approached the Chairman of the Meghalaya Public Service Commissioner L M Sangma expressing its discontentment over the abrupt decision of MPSC’s order to withdraw the scheduled viva voice and re-notify the post of Health and Medical Officer and subsequently increasing the number of vacant posts from 50 to 60. AYC in a memorandum submitted to the chairman said the revocation of the advertisement came in a sudden manner and the way the commission declared the advertisement confirms that there was a hidden policy and mala fide intention to deprive eligible candidates in the latter part of the selection process.  “It is also sad to know that the whole advertisement was jeopardised only for increasing the same vacant post,” the AYC said. AYC also asked MPSC to finish all recruitments by December.
