On December 5, a young couple committed suicide by hanging themselves at Satpator village in Amlarem sub-division of the district.
The couple, Boymi (Boimi) Mulat (19) and Cherish Dkhar (18), took the extreme step owing to pressure from their families to stay apart despite being married.
