Turnout: Final percentage in KHADC 75.02, JHADC records 87.51

SHILLONG: The final voting percentage in the six seats of the KHADC stood at 75.02 while that for the lone JHADC seat of War East was 87.51 in the by-polls to the District Councils on Tuesday.
As per the data provided by the District Council Affairs Department, the final percentage in the constituencies under KHADC were Nongkrem at 74.91, Laban at 64.26, Nongspung-Sohiong at 80.55, Mairang-Nongkhlaw at 78.32, Pariong-Mawthadraishan at 74.82 and Rambrai-Jyrngam at 70.60.
Commissioner and Secretary, District Council Affairs Department, T. Dkhar, told reporters that elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of votes on Friday from 8am.
While the counting of votes for three seats of East Khasi Hills will be held at JN Stadium, the votes for War East seat will be counted at Amlarem Civil Sub Division.
The counting of votes for Pariong-Mawthadraishan seat will be held at Trysem Hall, DC office, and for Mairang-Nongkhlaw and Rambrai-Jyrngam seats, votes will be counted at Mairang Civil Sub Division.
To a question, Dkhar said in the next general elections to the councils, NOTA facilities will be made available in EVMs.
