4th teachers to meet CM over salary hike

SHILLONG: The 4th teachers in SSA-supported schools (Upper Primary) in a meeting at Khasi National Durbar Hall Mawkhar stated that they will meet the education Minister over the issue of enhancement of salary on Monday.
In a statement to the press, H. M. Marbaniang, chairman, MSSASA – 4th Teachers Committee stated that they had met chief minister Mukul Sangma on August 31 and the School Education and Literacy Minister Deborah Marak.
The association stands firm in their demand for increasing in salary stating that the state government should send a clear message to them as to whether it will enhance the salary or not as they are currently earning a salary of Rs 6000 per month.
There are over 1521 teachers in the State serving as 4th teachers.
