SHILLONG: English writer Charles Dickens once said, “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another”.  Posh Revolution, a group of people with the motto, ‘Drive beyond imagination’ got together 2-3 years back to “contribute to the society”.
The group visited Peniel English School which houses an orphanage, Grace Home at Laitkroh on Wednesday.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, ‘MRD-01’, advisor of the club said, “We started almost 2-3 years back. We would go out together with friends and soon we realised that we can do something for the people as some members are already employed.”
Highlighting on ‘ride tourism’ as the right choice for young people, he said, “Instead of indulging in drinking or partying, we try to explore the world by going on a ride to explore ‘ride tourism’ in different places.”
PK-09, vice-president of the club said, “We have been blessed throughout the year and Christmas is the time when we do our best to give back to others.”
MRD-01, who stated that the club believes in ‘mission with a vision’, expressed dismay that in the present era, the conscience to help and support people is dwindling.
“There are means to help and we should help,” he said.
He informed that Posh Revolution has over 35 members with chapters in Delhi, Gauhati, Bangalore and Shillong.
The orphanage at Peniel English School, which was established 2002, houses 10 girls and 5 boys within the age-group of 10-15.
The supervisor of the orphanage informed that there is acute shortage of fund and members of the Khasi Jaintia Christian Mission Society are making the best effort to contribute to the orphanage.
