SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Nongthymmai Circle called on East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P S Dkhar on Thursday to discuss the alleged Aadhaar enrollment of non-genuine residents of Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) area.
KSU’s Nongthymmai circle secretary Eric Nongkynrih said that the union has urged the DC to “take the matter seriously.” The DC assured the union that the matter will be forwarded to the East Khasi Hills SP.  “We have also suggested that Aadhaar enrolment should be facilitated through various traditional institutions,” the KSU said.
Meanwhile, on the dilemma of ration card holders, the DC informed that people whose names did not feature in the list of beneficiaries, should immediately submit their names to the headmen of the respective localities so that the same can be forwarded to the DC’s office.
