NEC completes 3 projects in State this fiscal

SHILLONG: The North Eastern Council completed 24 projects in the eight North Eastern states including three in Meghalaya worth Rs 163.03 crore in the current financial year (2016-17).
In Meghalaya, the Agia-Mendipathar-Phulbari-Tura road was completed at a cost of Rs 90.64 crore. The project was sanctioned in 2010. In addition, another project which was completed in Meghalaya was the capacity building for service providers for tourism sector for food craft Institute, West Garo Hills at a cost of Rs 13.90 lakh.
The North East Zone Inter-State Badminton Championship was also hosted in Shillong.
NEC calendar released
The North Eastern Council Secretary Ram Muivah on Tuesday launched the NEC wall calendar for 2017.
Speaking on the occasion, Muivah said that the calendar is a tribute to the indigenous and exotic fruits found in the region.
It may be mentioned that every year the NEC brings out a calendar with a theme. This year’s theme is the indigenous and exotic fruits of North East India.
