SBI Life gifts computers, bookshelves to schools

SHILLONG: SBI Life Insurance staff of the North East (Shillong) gave gifts, computers, bookshelves and other necessary items to schools in and around the city as part of its corporate social responsibility programme that aims at supplementing the education and healthcare needs of children.  The schools identified by SBI Life are Ka Khmah L.M. Primary School (Mawiong Rim), Dinet Manik Syiem Higher Secondary School (Nongthymmai) and St Luke R.C. L.P. (Mawlai).
Raj Kumar Raina, regional director of SBI Life, delivering his address at Dinet Manik Syiem Higher Secondary School, said, “It is not a donation but contribution for the uplift and well-being of the students to enable them to move ahead in life.” The school received a computer set, a computer table, three bookshelves and 100 tiffin boxes.
Raina said though SBI Life is known for its business acumen but it does it “with a heart”. “We are thinking of other projects as well which will be of help to the society,” he added.
Ka Khmah L.M. Primary School (Mawiong Rim) was given three bookshelves, 141 tiffin boxes and 50 school bags.
