TURA: Garo Hills police have launched a manhunt for three men who abducted a mentally challenged minor girl from outside her home in Dalu on Friday evening and later dumped her near a petrol pump on the outskirts of Tura.
The 14-year-old girl was abducted around 6pm on January 6 from outside her home at Dalu Zikapara by three men in an auto. She is unable to recollect what happened thereafter as she became unconscious after the men she was forced to drink “some substance”.
Locals spotted her moving around Bokmagre petrol station near Tura Nehru Park     on Saturday afternoon and alerted a social activist, Jaynie N Sangma. Sangma took her to the district child protection officer.
A police case has been registered the same evening and she was later taken to her house. She lives with her father.
Police are now on the lookout for the three accused as well as one Honeybee K. Sangma who, after raping his minor sister-in-law on Christmas night at Tikrikilla, has been absconding.
