Three arrested for extortion

SHILLONG: Police have arrested three miscreants for demanding ransom from a person from Assam. Saupan Saha of Dhupdhara, Assam lodged a complaint that on Dec. 15 , he received an anonymous SMS in which the sender, claiming to be a GNLA cadre demanded Rs. 1,50,000.  Out of fear, the complainant paid Rs. 30,000. In this connection, Police arrested three persons, who have been identified as Tengkrang M Sangma, Sanjal Khan M Sangma and Kinseng R Marak.
