SHILLONG: President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce, Meghalaya, Sloan Pala has clarified that there was no case of any illegal transportation of coal at Sohkha.
In response to the news report in this regard, Pala, on behalf of the Association, said on Tuesday that the allegation made against the weighbridge and the customs department at Sohkha village was baseless. “There are no cases of carrying overloading of coal. The reason why we put tarpaulins and cover the loaded trucks is the order passed by NGT to preserve and save the environment as dust particle can pollute the environment,” he added.
According to Pala, whoever made the false allegation against the weighbridge and the Customs department is jealous of the hard work of the Chamber of Commerce to earn a living.
Pala also asked the concerned people not to spread false information and instead concentrate on their work rather than looking at others’ business.
