SHILLONG: The BSF recently organised a civic action programme as part of the Border Management Plan at Shillong Darbar Secondary School in Lankading here.
The programme was aimed at improving the quality of life of children from economically backward families and “to create new avenues for bringing positive changes in their life”.
Ranveer Singh Shakhtawat, BSF Deputy Inspector General, Sector HQ Mawpat, inaugurated the programme. He later distributed computers, chairs and tables and study materials among the students.
The BSF endeavour was appreciated by all teachers of the secondary school.
The Border Security Force had earlier organised such programmes and is committed to doing so in the future, said an official.
