Kohima: Nagaland Governor P B Acharya has said it was a ‘big thing for the Government to choose Nagaland and give permission to establish an institute of Horticulture.
Inaugurating the Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema is hosting 3-day National Conference on ‘Advances in Indian Floriculture with focus on North East and Hill region,’ which began on Friday, Mr Acharya cited the Prime Minister Modi’s programme of ‘Skilling India’.
He said, “Unless skill is added in our education system that graduate when he comes out, he will not be employable.”
Our youths when they come out of universities they should be job givers not job seekers, he added.
The Nagaland Governor also said though it was ‘okay’ for the Naga Students’ Federation to talk about ‘politics and respectable peace’, it should also pursue other agendas like ‘how the government schools are running and whether mid-day meals are properly given’ in schools. Nagaland, he said, was fortunate to have five universities for its total population 20 Lakhs. (UNI)
