1 dies in WKH accident
One person died and three others were injured when the Maruti Alto they were travelling in was hit by a truck at Tiehsaw-Khyllem village in West Khasi Hills on January 16. The driver of the Maruti car has been identified as Trassful Wahlang.
Truck hits oil tanker
A truck proceeding towards Guwahati from Agartala collided with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction at Umtyrwa under Khliehriat Block, East Jaintia Hills District on January 18. In the incident, the truck driver Mushtaq Ali (22) sustained injuries and was shifted to Khliehriat CHC and then to Jowai Civil Hospital.
Pedestrian knocked over
In a hit and run case, a pedestrian sustained injuries after he was hit by a moving vehicle while walking on the side of the road. The incident happened near the junction going towards the Deputy Commissioner Office at Khliehriat East under Khliehriat Block, East Jaintia Hills District on January 17 at about 11:11 pm. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Khliehriat helped in shifting the pedestrian, Toe Rymbai (47) to Khliehriat CHC and then to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
Car skids, 1 injured
A car heading towards Mairang from Nongstoin drove off the road when the vehicle skidded at Shyrwang under Mairang Block in West Khasi Hills District on January 17. The driver of the vehicle, Elpidius Mawlot (49) sustained injuries in the indent. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Mairang helped in shifting Elpidius Mawlot to Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital, Mairang and then to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
