SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma is affirming that Congress will come back to power at the Centre in the next elections scheduled to be held in the year 2019.
“They are saying development is their agenda but how there will be development when there is conflict and tension on communal and religious lines,” he said, adding that their frontal organisation is doing something and the Prime Minister is saying something else. Stating that there was a general feeling among the people in the year 2014  to go for a change as 10  years of governance in democracy is a long time, Sangma added that people’s memory is short and all the good things done by the UPA Government were forgotten.
He also said that the crusade against corruption was started by the Congress itself as numbers of legislative measures were taken by the Government.
Citing an example, he said that Delhi voted for Aam Aadmi Party during that time but their leader Arvind Kejriwal made a joke of himself and resigned.
“People realised that Arvind Kejriwal is unpredictable and Narenda Modi took advantage of Kejriwal’s flip flop’ Sangma said.
He further said that demonetisation move of the Prime Minister has exposed his whimsical attitude and alleged   that the Narendra Modi lacks sensitivity towards people and the electorates. “Congress has no plans of having any alliance with any political parties for the upcoming state elections next year.” the he said.
