SHILLONG: New Friends Union (NFU) defeated Riatsamthiah SCC by 37 runs via D/L method in a league match of the Super Division Shillong Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo on Thursday.
Half centuries by Nitesh Sharma (60 of 42 balls) and Sylvestar (55 off 81 balls) took NFU to a formidable 225/3 in 40 overs after they elected to bat first. For Riatsamthiah Washid Ali and Aiborlang Wahlang grabbed a wicket each.
In reply, Riatsamthiah was reeling at 60/4 in 17.2 overs when the game was interrupted by rain. NFU were declared winners via D\L method.
