Arms found inside Manas Park in Bodoland

Guwahati: Based on specific information, troops of the Army and Assam Police along with other Central
Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel launched an operation in the dense Manas Reserve Forest in Chirang district, of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) braving adverse weather conditions and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a recently abandoned camp of NDFB(S) militants.
The recovery included one self -loading rifle, one carbine, three single barrel rifles, two hand grenades and large quantity of ammunition in addition to food stuff, tarpaulins, water cans, ropes, bags and solar panels. These items may have been used by terrorists of NDFB(S) who are suspected to be part of Bidai group of the NDFB(S) that has been on the run since the December 2014 massacre of Adivasi villgaers in the state, according to a Defence spokesman here.
