Lynn’s IPL campaign in doubt due to shoulder injury

Kolkata: Chris Lynn’s IPL campaign was thrown in doubt on Monday after the Kolkata Knight Riders batsman suffered yet another shoulder injury during the team’s match against Mumbai Indians. The Queenslander suffered the injury while fielding last night. Lynn clutched the joint in pain after attempting a catch to dismiss Jos Buttler in the outfield. He was attended to by Knight Riders’ physio Andrew Leipus and was later seen with an ice-pack strapped to his shoulder. Lynn started his IPL campaign with a blistering 93 against Gujarat Lions, setting the stage for a productive season in the cah-rich event. (PTI)

Rohit Sharma reprimanded for showing dissent

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been reprimanded by the match referee for showing dissent during an IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders here. The 29-year-old showed his disappointment with the umpire’s leg before wicket decision off Sunil Narine’s bowling and expressed his anger while walking back to the pavillion at the Wankhede Stadium here last night. Although Mumbai Indians won the match by four wickets, at the time when Rohit got out the team needed 105 more runs off 62 balls. “Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians captain, was reprimanded by the match referee for showing excessive, obvious disappointment with an umpire’s decision during his team’s contest against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Pollard slams Manjrekar for his on-air comments

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians batsman Kieron Pollard has slammed Sanjay Manjrekar for his on-air comments about his batting during an IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders here, saying that the former India player suffers from “verbal diarrhoea”. In the commentary box, Manjrekar had criticised Pollard, saying that he was only good enough to bat for the last six or seven overs of an innings. Manjrekar was responding to a fellow commentator’s query about what Pollard’s ideal position in the batting order should be. Pollard responded angrily to Manjrekar’s criticism in a series of tweets.
“@sanjaymanjrekar u feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea (diarrhoea)..,” Pollard said in his first tweet. “Do you know how I get big so.. about BRAINLESS.. words are very powerful .. once it leaves u can’t take it back.. sins of parents fall on…,” he said in another tweet.
