Army flush out KLF ultras in East Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: Based on intelligence inputs about movements of armed terrorists in the thickly forested  East Karbi Anglong (EKA) hill district of Assam , the Army engaged in counter-insurgency operation has  launched a massive search operation in the area to tackle the threat posed by militants belonging to Kuki Liberation Front (KLF).
As per Army sources, operations were aimed at flushing out the KLF militants from their jungle hide outs. The Army claims that the flush-out operations have been a success much to the relief of the local populace in the strife-torn are.
Meanwhile, the Army is also keeping a strict vigil and maintaining a robust area domination and counter terrorism posture in the disturbed areas of Upper Assam and East Arunachal Pradesh, in view of regular inputs of terrorist groups trying to make their presence felt in the area and also seeking  opportunities to cause attrition to the security forces.
A hardcore terrorist of Naga rebel group, NSCN(K), self-styled corporal Wahang Sumyen was neutralised by Assam Rifles in a fire on Monday last in interior Muktova in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, when he was intercepted by an Assam Rifle patrolling party. A powerful IED along with a  pistol, ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
