NONGSTOIN: Yet another accident involving a truck; yet another death.
In the third incident of its kind in the State within a span of a week, one person died on the spot and two others sustained serious injuries when a Shaktiman truck rammed into a coal truck at Mawsawa under Mairang in West Khasi Hills District.
The deceased, Aiborlang Warjri, 34, was driving the Shaktiman. Mantar L Mawlong and Filbert Kharjana sustained injuries and were referred to Shillong for treatment. They all hail from Mission Mairang.
A case has been registered against the driver of the truck, West Khasi Hills SP S. Nongtnger said, while adding that the truck driver and his handyman fled after the accident.
