SCL: Khalsa Warriors win third division championship  
Shillong: Khalsa warriors claimed the Shillong Cricket League third division championship by defeating Sporting CC by five wickets played here in cricket ground, Polo on Thursday. Electing to bat first Sporting CC, were bundled out for 92 runs in 16.3 overs in which Govind Pradhan scored 26 runs off 38 balls and Som Pandey scored 16 runs off 14 balls. For Khalsa Warriors, Amit Debbarman and Sawan Singh picked up four and three wickets each. In reply, Khalsa Warriors chased down the target and scored 93 runs losing five wickets in 13.4 overs with Rahul Singh and Rajan Singh contributing 48 runs and 21 runs respectively. For Sporting Som Pandey and Rup Thapa picked up one wicket each. Rahul Singh of Khalsa Warriors was adjudged as Man of the Tournament, while Amit Debbarman of Khalsa Warriors bagged the Man of the Final award.

Badminton, TT coaching camp at Umsning

Nongpoh: Aimed at nurturing sports talent at the grass root level which will benefit the state as a whole and the students in particular, the District Sports Officer of Ri Bhoi District will be organising a winter coaching camp for Badminton and Table Tennis for boys and girls from March 6 at Umsning Auditorium Hall, Umsning. In a press release issued, the DSO informed that all interested schools, sports associations from Umsning Block can take part in the camp. For details, interested participants may contact the office of the District Sports Officer or call at 9774006394/8014035919. It may be mentioned that the DSO Ri Bhoi had also earlier successfully conducted the coaching camp for badminton and table tennis at NSCA Indoor Stadium Umlyngkdait, where most of the participants between the age group of 5-19 years took part. The DSO Ri Bhoi also expressed its happiness to see the interest and willingness of the parents to bring their children to the camp daily.

Delhi-based club to conduct football trials in city
SHILLONG: Sudeva FC, an AIFF-licensed club based out of Delhi, will conduct football trials at MFA Ground, Polo at 9 am on March 5 for its U-13 and U-15 I-League teams and its Delhi-NCR Residential Football School. Players, who want to attend the trials can contact 730829997 for registration.

U-12 CM football tourney concludes in WJH
Shillong: The U-12 yrs Chief Minister Football Tournament organised by the District Sports Office, West Jaintia Hills District in collaboration with Amlarem Sports Association concluded on Thursday. In girl’s category,  Amlarem Secondary School emerged victorious by defeating Jaintia Church of God School 2-0. Meanwhile, in boys category, Lamin XI Sports & Cultural Club defeated Amlarem Sports Club 2-0 to win the championship. The event was graced by the DSO, West Jaintia Hill District, Portanri Pakyntein, Vice President Amlarem Sports Association, Bah H D Rymbui, Secretary Referee Committee Amlarem Sub Divisional Association and the staff of the office of DSO.
