SHILLONG: The KSU has voiced its opposition to the allocation of land near NEIGRIHMS for some state guest house.
In a letter addressed to Urban Affairs Minister Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, the KSU expressed shock that government land, opposite to NEIGRIHMS main gate, has been allocated for construction of a guest house for some state government (unspecified).
“We have no problems if Meghalaya allocates land for state guest houses. Our problem is that the government should accommodate the needs of the people of the state as priority,” the KSU said.
“The land in question should have been earmarked for setting up of boarding and lodging facilities for attendants and relatives of patients who come to NEIGRIHMS for treatment. Guest houses for other state governments could have been allocated elsewhere,” it added.
