Ganja found; ‘drug addicts’ held
Police on Saturday found 797 packets of ganja abandoned at Paltan Bazar. In another incident, residents of Mawlai Nongpathaw apprehended two teenage girls on Saturday from the locality suspecting them to be drug addicts and handed them at Mawlai police station.
Abducted girl rescued
The 16-year-old girl who went missing from her residence at 4th Furlong, Polo, on March 12 was rescued from Barpeta on March 17. Millik Jan, the girl’s mother, in her complaint had said she suspected that her daughter was kidnapped by Md. Rakil Ali of Barpeta in Assam.
Accident
A six-year-old girl was knocked down by a Mahindra Pick-up at Pynursla in East Khasi Hills on Saturday. The injured girl was first taken to Shillong Civil Hospital where she was referred to NEIGRIHMS.
Theft
In another incident, miscreants stole a music system along with speakers from the vehicle of Bansynshar Marbaniang, which was parked near his house at Lapalang Mawbynna, Shillong.
A tourist taxi was stolen from New Kench’s Trace on March 17.
