SHILLONG: Latiplang Kharkongor was appointed as Executive Member of KHADC after a notification given by the District Council Affairs department following Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s approval. The matter was listed in the form of a question in the Assembly, but it was not taken up as the questioner P N Syiem came late. Another pending issue with the KHADC is that of nominated MDC as the Council had proposed the name of J. Reenbohn, a retired judge of the District Council Court, in December 2015.
However, the state government had preferred Irene Lyngdoh for the post and the same was communicated to then Governor V. Shanmuganathan for approval.
