Harassment of orderly peon
SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has disposed of a writ petition filed by an orderly peon who had claimed to have been harassed by Director of Soil and Water Conservation, D. Langstieh, after the director revoked the transfer order of the petitioner.
The orderly peon, in her writ petition to the Court, had claimed that the Director tasked her with non-official work and insisted that she stay at his residence at night. When she refused, he withheld her salary and later issued an order transferring her to Byrnihat.
During the hearing, the counsels for the two parties submitted that the respondent has already revoked the transfer order of the petitioner and so the matter had become redundant.
In the light of the submissions by the counsels, the court disposed of the writ petition.
