Leaves final decision to party

SHILLONG: The UDP sub-committee on KHADC affairs has recommended withdrawal of support to the Executive Committee of PDF led by KHADC CEM and suspended Congress legislator P N Syiem, but left it for the party high command to take a final decision on the matter.
Following the submission of the House Committee report during a special session of the council on Monday, Bindo Lanong, chairman of the sub-committee said, “We discussed the House Committee report. We have referred the matter to the party to take necessary action on the issue of withdrawal of UDP support to the Executive Committee of the PDF.”
According to Lanong, the meeting of the party high command is likely to be held on April 12. “We will meet the Governor (Banwarilal Purohit) again on the issue of House Committee report,” he said.
He recalled that the House Committee found the EC led by Syiem guilty of rampant corruption and they will meet the Governor to seek his intervention in this matter.
