Woman village head shot dead at her house

Saharanpur (UP): A woman, head of a village, was shot dead at her home here on Friday allegedly by some unidentified men, police said. The incident occurred at Maanpur Fali village under Gangoh police station limits of Saharanpur.
Rakesh Bala, the village head, was at her home when the men arrived in a car and stopped by her house. They engaged her in a conversation and were soon offered tea, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Luv Kumar said.
As she came out with tea, the men took out guns in a filmy style and opened fire on Bala, leaving her dead on spot, the SSP said, adding the assailants then fled. (PTI)
