SHILLONG: Police apprehended one person for duping several people in West Jaintia Hills by impersonating as cop.
Acting on an FIR filed by Marbiangki War and six others of Umshyngiar Khanduli, police arrested the accused, Benedict Siangshai, on Monday.
As per the FIR, on September 17, 2014, Siangshai impersonated as a police officer and claimed to be a close friend of an IPS officer. Later, he cheated them of over Rs 2 lakh with a promise to provide them jobs in the Police Department.
