TURA: The ad hoc teachers of lower and upper primary classes will come together in Garo hills to stage a sit-in at Chandmary playground on February 27 over regularisation.
The protest is the first ‘do or die’ agitation by the teachers under the banner All Garo Hills Ad hoc Elementary School Teachers’ Association, which is contemplating a year-long protest if the government does not relent.
The decision on the demonstration was taken on Monday.
“It is unfortunate that our demands have not been fulfilled even after one full-year since the government prepared a draft proposal for provincialisation. We have waited enough. So we have lined up a series of protests this year” the Publicity Secretary of MUPSTA informed.
