SHILLONG: The 122nd birth anniversary of Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj will be celebrated on the premises of Bharat Sevashram Sangha from February 9 to 11 in Jail Road area of the city.
‘Yagya acharya boron’ or ritual welcoming of the Lord Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj will mark the onset of Maghi Poornima followed by other programmes.
On February 10, the lord will be given a holy bath or ‘maha abhishek’.
‘Onnokoot bhog’ made of at least 108 food items prepared by devotees will be offered as prasada to the Swami.
There will be 122 earthen lamps depicting the anniversary year. Dolon Utsav or Phool Dol, in which the lord is carried on a pedestal decorated with flowers, will mark the conclusion of the festival.
