SHILLONG: Budding musicians and upcoming bands will soon get a platform to showcase their talent. Royal Stag is set to organise the second edition of the “Rock Royalty 2.0”, Open Beat Contest across Meghalaya. The grand finale will be held in Shillong on March 4.
It will hold preliminary rounds in four districts — at District Library in Tura on February 8, District Library Jowai on February 11, Vani Hall Nongstoin on February 16 and at Bharat Scouts and Guides in Shillong on February 18.
There will be no charges for bands to participate. Bands from outside the state are allowed to participate and they can choose any of the venues.
The winner will get Rs 80,000, runners-up Rs 50,000 and four individual prizes worth Rs 5,000 each. Besides, winners will also get support for future gigs.
