Rs 11.5 lakh looted from WJH petrol pumps

JOWAI:  An amount of Rs 2.5 lakh were looted at a gun point by three robbers from the manager of a petrol pump in Phramer –Shangpung Road, West Jaintia HIlls on Friday at about 5.30 pm.
The Manager of the pump, Chandra Kan Singh informed that the robbers barged into the counter and took all the cash available. He further added that they were armed with two small guns and a big Khasi knife and after committing the crime, they fled towards East Jaintia Hills in a motorcycle. Police were also immediately informed and are in action to nab the culprits.
It may be mentioned that on February 6, three armed persons had also looted Rs. 9 lakh from a petrol pump in Dkhiah West in East Jaintia Hills. It is suspected the same culprits were involved in both the incidents.
