NCP clarifies on building bye laws

SHILLONG: The NCP team under the leadership of its president  Sanbor Shullai has informed that as per document submitted, the District Council has the power to frame its own building bye laws to implement and regulate the constructions of new buildings or houses or the extension or alteration of existing ones, as per the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills District (Establishment of Town Committee) Act, 1960 & The United Khasi- Jaintia Hills District rules, 1962, under the paragraph- 8, clause(11). within the jurisdiction of Schedule Areas as enshrined under the six Schedule of the constitution of India.
