2 GNLA cadres held in Assam

GUWAHATI: The Army engaged in counter-insurgency operation in Assam arrested two militants of the banned Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) in Goalpara district of Assam, a defence spokesman said here on Saturday.
One of the apprehended militants was identified as Polning Sangma (24). One locally made pistol, ammunition, a mobile phone and three GNLA demand notes were recovered from his possession.
The second militant was nabbed from Gandimpathar village of Goalpara district. He has been identified as Ajay Momin (24). A factory-made pistol with magazine and ammunition were recovered from the individual.
