NEW DELHI: Tribal Affairs Secretary Anoop Kumar Srivastava was on Thursday sent back to his joint cadre state Assam-Meghalaya before completion of his central deputation tenure.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved premature repatriation of Srivastava, a 1981 batch IAS officer, to his cadre. Srivastava was in November last year named as Officer on Special Duty in Tribal Affairs Ministry. He took over as the Secretary after retirement of Shyam S Agarwal on December 31, 2016. Before this, Srivastava worked as Secretary, Department of Official Language in Ministry of Home Affairs. (Agencies)
