Office bearers and workers of the BJP remembered late party leader T H Rangad on his 63rd birth anniversary on Thursday.
Liquor seized
The Excise department, West Garo Hills conducted raids in and around Tura and arrested 21 persons under section 53(I) (a) of ME Act during December and January. Approximately 86.18 litres of IMFL & beer was also seized. A total of 8 cases were disposed of and a fine amounting to Rs. 8,000 was realized from the offenders.
Prize distribution
Prize distribution ceremony for the 6th Meghalaya Poetry Competition cum Poetry Festival will be held at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw on Friday. East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
