Women’s panel writes to NCW on Raj Bhavan issue

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women has apprised the National Commission for Women over the alleged molestation scandal involving Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan.
The chairperson of the Commission, Theilin Phanbuh, said she had written to the National Commission seeking advice on how to deal with the matter and a response in this regard is still awaited.
However, neither the victim nor other applicants for the job of PRO in Raj Bhavan on whose allegations the media reported the matter is yet to approach the Commission.
‘Guv should have been dismissed’
The AICC and JD-U reiterated that Meghalaya Governor V. Shanmuganathan should have been dismissed instead of his resignation, our special correspondent adds from New Delhi.
In their reaction, the Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan and JD-U leaders said dismissal of the Governor would have been ideal than his resignation over the scandal.
