WKH man to get award for plant protection

NONGSTOIN:  Charles Tympuin of Nonglwai II, who is also the President of Nonglwai Orchid Society from West Khasi Hills, has been selected for the Plant Genome Saviour Community Award 2014-15.
Tympuin, along with three of his members, will leave for Bihar on April 17 to receive the award. The award will be conferred by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on April 19  in Bihar’s Champaran.
The Plant Genome Saviour Community Award is given for protection of plant varieties.
Tympuin will receive Rs 10 lakh, a citation and a memento.
