Amur falcon seized, released

Kohima: Nagaland Forest Department personnel seized around thousand of Amur Falcon, a kind of migratory bird in Wokha division and released those alive in their natural habitat. Official sources said the personnel of the Forest Department of Wokha Division released all those endangered migratory birds they seized from local vendors who brought the birds for sell in local markets. Despite various ban orders clamped by the administration, departments concerned and organisations, the birds continued to be trapped, hunted and killed indiscriminately. (UNI)
