SHILLONG: The State Government has started the process of identifying hawkers. During the hearing of the pending petition filed by Meghalaya Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers Association against the Government, H.S Thangkhiew, senior counsel appearing for the State, submitted that the process of identification of bona fide hawkers is going on and he sought time to file an additional affidavit in the matter. In view of the submissions made, the court wanted the copies of the inspection reports on hawkers to be made available to parties concerned.
The case will come up for hearing on June 1.
