Mumbai: Setting the tone ahead of the release of much-awaited flick Rockstar, lead actor Ranbir Kapoor and music director A R Rahman will be performing in a live concert the next week at a suburban college here.

Interestingly, this is going to be Ranbir’s maiden stage performance and so will be for the music maestro who will perform live in a concert for any film.

The Rockstar concert will be held on November 1 at Bhavan’s College ground in suburban Andheri here.

“Since the film is a story of a performer having a live concert was always on agenda…it was required. At the concert songs from the film will be performed though we not exactly replicate the songs we will just play it live,” director Imtiaz Ali told reporters here.

Besides Ranbir and Rahman, lead actress Nargis Fakhri, singer Mohit Chauhan, director Imtiaz Ali, music arranger Ranjit Barot and leading percussionist Sivamani will be part of the live concert.

It is believed that Ranbir’s character in the movie is modelled on the rock legend Jim Morrison of ‘The Doors’.

The film introduces newcomer Nargis Fakhri and is slated to release on November 11. (PTI)
