London: Twilight star Robert Pattinson says he is technically married to girlfriend Kristen Stewart, because producers hired a real priest to preside over their on-screen wedding in the latest installment of the film franchise.
The couple tie the knot as young lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I, and Pattinson says the scenes of the nuptials were more official than he expected, reported GQ magazine.
“The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest. So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married,” he said.
Stewart confirmed longrunning rumours of a romance between her and British hunk Pattinson, conceding it’s hard to keep her personal life private when both actors are in the public eye.
“So much of my life is so easily Googled. I mean, it’s like, ‘Come on guys, it (their relationship) is so obvious,” she had said. (PTI)
